Tuesday, February 28, 2006 > Adelaide AGAIN
At first, I could not believe that I was back here again. Ask Anne or Gracie. I kept saying that until they wanted to strangle me. It felt like I left for years. But I am back and I have to face the reality. Even more so now as I start Uni again tomorrow. I guess 3 months of full on holidays are more than I can ask for.... So won't complain.Being here for the 2nd year does not make saying goodbyes any easier. I am missing everyone back home like crazy. I had to leave many newly made friendships and many old but strengthened ones also. Does not help also that the stress items since arriving are enough to kill. Oh well... Let's see what this year brings..
Some good news though. The 4 of us, (Gracie, Anne, Mel and myself) have found the ideal place to stay!!!! The place we are now staying is.... hhhmmm... just not so good lah. But thank God we found this place!!!!! So much for me and Gracie cleaning up a dusty 100 year old room.

Grace is waiting to sleep. We have to share a SINGLE bed. God Bless me.......................................

I am almost done packing. It would be done... But I have to figure out how to lessen the weight. I never imagined it to come up to so much. Moreover, it's not even my first time going.
That's the consequence of my over-shopping.
My luggage alone weighs about 29kilos despite the fact that I am already carrying 10kilos of clothes as hand carry. And Mr. Mark Tan's printer is 8 kilos, just about 6 kilos more than the weight he confidently stated. Haih... 29+ 8 =37 kilos, NOT cool.
Sorry Mark, may not be able to bring it any longer.
Sorry Rose, for not being able to bring Nic's stuff.
Sorry Anne also for not being able to help you with your load.
Sorry Anne again and Grace for not bringing any food stuff at all.
This should really teach me a lesson on shopping excessively... (0) comments

Wednesday, February 08, 2006 > Feeling good....
I was just teaching my sister some add maths stuff. And I am glad to inform all that I was successful in doing so even though I have not touched it for the past 2+ years! Hahaha.... I am obviously quite proud of it. It did wonders for my self esteem.
However, I am quite glad to be leaving before those harder topics come along the way that might cause me to doubt my own capabilities. Ignorance is bliss... ;)

Was a great time of reunions, visitations, angpow collections, pigging out, pigging out and pigging out!! I ate so much, it wasn't funny. Almost every other hour. To feel better, I justify by telling myself,1. It is afterall Chinese New Year and a BIG part of the agenda
2. It's hot and I perspire heaps
3. I am returning to the land-of-only-pasta in less than 3 weeks.
4. I am NOT the only one doing it
That did make me feel a whole lot better. Hope that the weighing scale does not burst my bubble. Haih... Fat chance..
Anyway, just some pictures......
A few "Foong" mums got together and made their daughters talk to one another after years of not doing so. Not that we didn't talk to one another on purpose, we just went our own separate ways. Was forced to visit their houses. It was really really awkward at first, but got better along the way. Even ended up in the mamak with 20++ cousins. Needless, to say it was a very fulfilling night for many of us. We made a pact to do this every year.
The mamak does bring people together..

That is my Chinese New Year for you!
And a random thought.. I am going back to Adelaide in exactly 2 weeks and 5 days. Aaarggghhh.....
