Thursday, March 30, 2006 > Chocolate Craze

I have had quite a chocolate filled week. Not something to be proud of, but something I definitely enjoyed. A girl, (especially one under much stress) should spoil herself silly once in a while..

Was in Carrington last week. Chee, Mae, Tsu Ee and myself decided to have fondue at 12.30 in the am even after a huge dinner of carbonara and chicken pies. Tsu Ee even provided us with a fondue cooking set...

Anne and I also went crazy while shopping 2 days ago.

The result...

12 Kit Kat Chunky bars
14 Wonky Bars
12 Tim Tams
3 M&Ms Minis
1 Mars packet
1 Snickers packet
2 Hot Chocolate boxes
1 Tin of Milo

In my roommate's and my defense, it was cheap! And we do NOT intend to eat all of that on our own. Or most of it lah...

Maybe I went a little overboard in spoiling myself this time round...

Friday, March 24, 2006 > Uni Prac story #2

Another one of my conversations:

Me: Hey Joe!
Joe: Hello Sun..
Me: Oh! Did you get a haircut??
Joe: Yeah... I did.
Me: I see...
Joe: I got a shave too. Did you get a shave??

I am not that hairy, am I????

Not only do I have to say goodbye to people that I love when I was back in Malaysia, but also when I am here! This is to Kam Fwei and Ai Ling who left a few days ago...

Thanks guys for making such a difference in my life!!!

..................................................................................................................................................................

It was the Adelaide Cup Day on Monday. Some horse-racing relating event. I think.. But all that mattered was that it was a public holiday. Where else better to go then the beach.....

In case, for those of who who have been wondering, we have all moved out into the new place. We LOVE it there! I am glad that I am finally able to settle down. Haih.. No more excuse to not do Uni work. But it's all worth it. Will post pictures when I take some.

Shucks... The bus is coming now!

Wednesday, March 08, 2006 > WOOHOO!!!!!

WE FOUND A HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many may be thinking, "The many visits to that forsaken website was worth it afterall." Hahahahaha... The irony is that we found this place in the papers. The ONLY time we looked through the papers.

I shan't complain. *smiles really really widely*

The most visited site these past few days has been,

....

....

....

....

....

....

....

....

....

....

realestate.com.au

Sorry for those of you who were anticipating to see your blog address there. As boring as that site is, I have been going there several times a day in hope of seeing a potential house.

So far, there have been a few. Many of which have already been taken, and some of which are unconfirmed. Waiting to be called by the agents. It sucks to be sitting around with things beyond my control. Especially with my have-to-be-control-of-everything nature and when the matter is just a notch below 'life and death'. Though, at times feels like it is even at a similar level.....

Sorry for all the trouble and inconvenience I have caused so many people. I am trying my very very best.

Saturday, March 04, 2006 > Of Uni and the Beach

My first practical placement of the year was an interesting one. I am working with the Community Re-entry Program (CRP), designed to support adults that acquired brain injury with fitting into the society. It is tragic to hear some of the tales these people have. Successful people with a bright future ahead of them just lost all in merely one accident, some of which is not even their fault. And to live with the wondering thought of where they could be today if the accident never happened. I have such admiration and respect for these people and loved every minute of interaction with them.

Just a funny conversation between one of the adults in the program, Aaron*, Beth (my fellow classmate) and myself.
*His name changed to protect his privacy.

Beth: Do you remember her name? (points to me)
Aaron: Aaaahhhh... Does it start with an M?
Beth: No.. With an S.
Aaron: Aaaahhh...
Me: Center of the universe?
Aaron: Saturn!
Beth: Hhhhmmm... No, but you are close.
Aaron: I don't know!
Me: It's Sun.
Aaron: Oh!

Five minutes later, Aaron looks at me...

Aaron: Aaaarrrgghhhh!!!
Me: You forgot my name?
Aaron: Aaaarrggghhh!!!!
Beth: Center of the universe.
Aaron: I don't know!
Me: What gives you light?
Aaron: The sun?
Me: That's it. Sun!

Hahaha.... He forgot my name again 10 minutes later. Oh well... I have the whole year to try. It has been a very different experience and am definitely looking forward to having more of it.

Anyway, had lifegroup at the Glenelg beach today. Finally!! Have been wanting to go since touchdown. Good fun...
