Yes, yes... I am thanking God that it is finally Friday. Thanking Him real hard:) This can't be a good sign. It is only the end of my FIRST week back at Uni and I already can't wait for the weekend. Haih... An interesting semester this will be... I think I may have said that before..
Today was just one of those days which I woke up with no thoughts at all in my head, no motivation. Just wanted to sit and do nothing. Obviously, the thought of Uni wasn't well received when it penetrated my mind after that blissful 5 seconds of nothing-ness at the moment of wake. These kind of beginnings to a day usually do not dictate a great and cheerful day.
Hence,
- I complained and grumbled about having to go to Uni. Considered calling in sick... (The only thing that stopped me was the similar excuse I gave to my work place recently. Conscience still intact)
- I got so immensely angry when I saw the bus leave for Uni just as I got to the bus stop. Blamed the bus driver, the traffic, the old lady that took forever to board the bus.... Basically everyone but myself.
- I was so sick of all the travel and time spent in the bus in order to get to Uni. I pass almost 100 bus stops on my journey to and fro!!!!! Yes, I really do actually keep a rough count.
- The sight of Uni was repugnant when I finally got there.
- I lost all dignity when I walked into class late... AGAIN, I might add. Late to 4 out of 5 classes now...
- Just slumped around in Uni awaiting the time to go home......
Until I realised... I am the only reason why I am miserable. And I... have no reason for feeling so. All have heard of the saying, "It's all about the mind." And so it is. It started off as a bad day, just simply because I woke up with the "aarrrggh" mindset. So hence, decided to change some of my thoughts:
- I am here in Uni 5000 miles away from home, graduating in a year and a half. After that I will just be an old fart working from 9-5 everyday. Enjoy it while it lasts!
- Late-ness.. The story of my life. Time to manage my time better. (Zie, I know, is nodding hard at this...) The bus driver, the traffic and the old lady that had trouble boarding the bus helped me realise that.
- The time spend travelling to and fro from Uni is a great time to do some catching up on the sleep that I often lack.. Ingenious, I know...
- Uni: The source of knowledge and my degree. It is not repulsive....
- True, I was late to 4 out of 5 classes, but I do have about another 60 classes to go this semester. So being late to 4 out of 60 classes doesn't sound so bad eh???
On a side note:
DASHING DARREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you! Heard that you were amazing. So proud of you!!! I really wish that I could have been there... But am so so happy for you!:) It's over! Weeeeeeeee!!!!!
A very Happy Birthday to one of my tallest girl friends Miss Tsu Vee and one of my shortest guy friends, Ivan Lean!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahaha... How ironic. Love you guys:) (0) comments
Wednesday, July 26, 2006 > Missing 'You'
Hahahaha... I am evidently not poetic at all. I give everyone the liberty of minus-ing my points..
Yes, it is unfortunately the end of my 5 week holiday and I have been thrown back into the harsh reality of Uni again. Not such a good start.. Was late to 2 out of 3 classes and I kept falling asleep in class: almost fell off the chair once. An interesting semester this one will be.... My only motivation now is the upcoming holidays.. Malaysia, here I come!!!!!:)
Since I have discovered the horror of the many 3,000 word assignments awaiting completion, I am in absolutely no mood to write a wordly update. Hence, I will let the many pictures below tell of some things I did these holidays (Which really isn't much. Adelaide is pretty boring). Enjoy..
A German lunch of sausages at Hanhdorf
Oh No... The attention is not on Miss Malaysian Idol at all. Is that supposed to be some sort of phone deco? Way way overdone I reckon.......
Something is VERY VERY wrong with blogger!!!!!!! I can't upload pictures nor correct the alignment!!!!!!!! I do mean to post many more pictures. But this will do for now lah..........
Friday, July 14, 2006 > Vhat lah he.....
This pre-chorus of the song "The Stand" is one of the very limited songs we sing at powergen. Yesterday, a certain worship leader that shall remain unnamed personalised this song to:
I could not stop laughing...... This certain worship leader wasn't even Indian!!!! Needless to say, I had to try hard to worship God despite hearing an Australian sing with an Indian accent.
Sorry, God....
Saturday, July 08, 2006 > Yet another Saturday
The sun is out, the birds are chirping.
And what are we doing?
Thursday, July 06, 2006 > What I saw on the bulletin board at work
Very important notice to all employees.Company policy: Effective from January 2006.
Dress Code
It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we assume you are doing too well financially and therefore do not need a raise. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you buy nicer clothes, and therefore, you do not need a raise to teach you a lesson. If you dress just rightly, you are right where you need to be and you do not need a raise.
Sick Days
We will no longer accept a doctors statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.
Annual Leave Days
Each employee will receive 96 Annual Leave days a year. They are called Saturday and Sunday.
Bereavement Leave
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for the dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements.
Toilet Use
Too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict 3 minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of 3 minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper will retract, the stall door will open and a picture will be taken. After your 2nd offence, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sanctioned under the company's mental health policy.
Lunch Break
Skinny people get 30 minutes as they need to eat more. Normal size people get 15 minutes to get a balanced meal. Chubby people get 5 minutes because that is all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.
Thank You for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive and interesting employment experience.
The Management
