Everyone knows how RED symbolizes prosper and luck for us Chinese people. I took this superstition to the next level in celebration of this festival. So instead of just dressing in all red and decorating my house with red thingies, I became RED.Yes, I AM red.
No exaggeration there. In trying to uphold and honour my traditions on a whole new level, I now suffer greatly. The constant feeling of burning heat and searing pain all along my legs and arms constrict all movement that I would normally do without a thought. The torture I have to endure had better produce some results. For this year, I am hoping that my prosper and luck would bring me:
1. Good results in Uni without having to put in much effort.
2. A tall, dark and handsome Prince Charming.
3. A tree growing in my garden that bears Aussie Dollars.
Oh man.. The heat is getting to me. Don't worry, I am not a superstitious nutcase.
Actual occurance: I wanted a tan badly. Went to Glenelg, sat on the beach for about 3 hours straight in the sun without any sunblock, though it was available. Sense my desperation? Other desperate friends also did the same. The sun felt good because the constant wind blowing was cool.
Results: I am as red as a lobster. Other friends are not suffering the same predicament. Probably due to their pigmentation.
Lesson learnt: Always apply sunblock no matter how desperate due to my low pigment count.
